How it works

How yard debris removal in Sacramento works.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS IN 10 SECONDS

What we haul
We load and haul yard piles around Sacramento: tree trimmings, bamboo, shrubs, leaves, old fencing and landscaping leftovers. We take branches once they're cut into pieces we can carry. We don't cut down trees.
How it's priced
Yard waste is priced by how much room it takes in the truck, with a firm price before we start. Dirt and rock are priced by weight, with a free quote from a photo. You pay after the pile is gone, with fuel built in and no travel surcharges in our service area.
Where we work
We haul green waste from yards across the Sacramento region. In August we cleared bamboo cuttings, branches and stalks from an Orangevale yard. Also see yard waste disposal in Sacramento. Local pages: Elk Grove and Roseville.
How soon
Same-day yard pickup is often available, and we answer 24 hours, 7 days a week. Tell us if the pile sits behind a narrow back gate, and call early for the best chance.
Where it goes
Branches, leaves and clippings go to composting or green waste processing where possible. Chain link and metal edging go to scrap. Mixed debris goes to the North Area Recovery Station or Kiefer Landfill. Loads like these help us donate or recycle about 45% of what we haul, on average.

What we haul out of Sacramento-area yards.

Sacramento yards grow fast. Between the valley oaks, the privets, the bamboo that never stops and the Bermuda grass that creeps into every bed, most homeowners end up with a pile of cuttings they can't fit in the green bin. That's where we come in.

Most of our yard jobs start after someone else has done the cutting. A tree service or gardener trims a few trees and leaves the branches, or a homeowner spends a weekend clearing an overgrown corner. We load the pile, haul it and rake up what's left on the ground.

This September in Sacramento, that was green waste from tree and bush trimming plus a layer of dead leaves, about half a truck. Another Sacramento home the same month had two or three small-to-medium trees' worth of cut branches waiting for us.

Bamboo is one of the most common calls. It's light, but long and springy, and it fills a truck quickly. In August we hauled bamboo cuttings, branches and stalks from an Orangevale yard, and a full truck of tree trimmings, shrubs and bamboo from a home in Sacramento.

City green bins are great for weekly clippings but can't hold a whole tree's worth of limbs, and bulky pickup programs usually want branches cut to length and bundled. We haul branches and yard waste once they're cut into pieces we can carry. We don't cut down trees or chop up branches.

Landscaping projects add a different kind of pile: old railroad ties, rotten edging, broken pavers, rocks, decking boards and bags of soil. We load those too. Heavy material like rock and dirt is priced by weight, with a free quote from a photo.

Storms in winter bring down limbs all over the region. Once they're cut into pieces two people can lift, we can haul them the same way.

Spring is the busiest time for yard work in the valley. Once the rain stops, everything grows at once, and by May many yards have a season's worth of pruning stacked along the fence. Summer brings dead lawn and dried-out shrubs after a water-restricted year, and fall brings leaves.

Wildfire season is another reason people call. Clearing dead brush, dry grass and fallen limbs away from the house creates defensible space, which matters most for homes near open land in the foothills and along the rivers.

Rental properties and vacant lots often come with a yard that hasn't been touched in years: overgrown hedges, weeds taller than the fence and piles of old debris. Once it's cut back, we can clear the whole lot in one visit.

If you've hired a gardener or landscaper for a one-time cleanup, you can coordinate so they cut and pile, and we haul. That way you're not paying them to make dump runs.

Fall leaves from sycamores, oaks and liquidambars pile up by the bag. Bagged or loose, they go on the truck, and anything compostable is kept apart from trash.

Before we come

Getting the pile ready.

  • Cut it first: we haul branches once they're cut into pieces we can carry. We don't cut down trees or chop up branches.
  • Piece size: limbs should be light enough for two people to lift.
  • Keep it separate: put rock, dirt and concrete in their own pile.
  • Access: tell us if the pile is in the back yard behind a narrow gate.

A photo of the pile is the fastest way to get a price.

Where it goes

Where yard waste ends up.

  • Branches, leaves and clippings go to composting or green waste processing where possible.
  • Clean lumber is kept apart for wood recycling when it's accepted.
  • Metal edging and old tools go to scrap recycling.
  • Mixed debris goes to the North Area Recovery Station or Kiefer Landfill.
Pricing

What yard debris removal costs.

Yard waste is priced by how much of the truck it fills. A small pile starts at $74, a standard pickup starts at $149, and a full truck is $749.

Rock, dirt, sod and concrete are heavy for their size, so they're priced by weight, with a free photo quote before we come.

Bamboo

Bamboo and palms.

Bamboo canes and palm fronds are bulky and awkward. If they're cut to a few feet, they pack tighter and cost less to haul. Palm fronds have sharp edges, so let us know they're in the pile.

Bamboo roots and rhizomes are heavy with soil attached. Shake off what you can, and we'll load the rest.

Fencing

Old fences and gates.

When a fence gets replaced, the old boards, rails and posts need somewhere to go. Posts with concrete still attached are heavy and priced by weight, with a free quote from a photo. Chain link is rolled and recycled as metal.

Lattice, trellis panels and old arbors can go on the same load.

Cleanups

Whole-yard cleanups.

If a yard has been let go for a while, there's usually more than green waste: broken planters, old hoses, a rusted grill, patio furniture. We can take all of it in one trip.

Old above-ground pools, garden hoses, broken pots and sun-rotted patio umbrellas are common finds in a neglected yard. They all ride together.
