STRAIGHT ANSWERS IN 10 SECONDS

What we do
We empty Sacramento storage units so you can stop paying rent. We set aside what you're keeping, donate what we can, haul the rest and leave the unit swept. Can't be there? We work from a list.
How pricing works
Storage unit cleanouts start with a free estimate, usually from the unit size and a photo, priced by volume, not hours. You pay when the unit's empty, fuel costs are on us, and there's no travel surcharge in our service area.
Where we work
We emptied a Sacramento unit this July, plus units in Carmichael in January and March and Elk Grove in May 2025. Check gate hours and add us to the facility's access list.
How soon
Bought an auction unit with a short deadline? Same-day pickup is often available, and we answer the phone 24 hours, 7 days a week. Call early and tell us the deadline.
Where it goes
Furniture, clothes and housewares in good shape go to donation. Metal, electronics and appliances are recycled, and mattresses go to Bye Bye Mattress. The rest goes to the North Area Recovery Station or Kiefer Landfill. Our average: about 45% of what we haul is donated or recycled.

Storage unit cleanouts

Stop paying rent on old stuff.

Emptying a storage unit, start to finish.

Storage units start with good intentions: a move between houses, a downsizing, a parent's belongings after a loss. Then the months turn into years, and the monthly rent adds up. At some point, most people decide it's time to empty it.

We go through the unit with you, or from a list if you can't be there, and set aside anything you want to keep. The rest is loaded, sorted for donation and recycling, and hauled away.

Storage facilities have their own rules. Gate hours, truck access, elevator use and who is allowed in the unit all vary. Check with the facility office before the pickup, and add us to the access list if they require it.

Units come in all sizes. A 5-by-10 might fit in part of a truck; a packed 10-by-30 can take more than one full load. The estimate will tell you which.

This July we emptied a storage unit in Sacramento. In Carmichael, we did storage unit cleanouts in January and March, and in Elk Grove in May 2025.

If you've inherited a unit from a family member, or bought one at a lien auction, we can help sort and clear it. Keepsakes, documents and anything that looks personal are set aside for you.

Leave any locks on until we arrive, or arrange for the facility to let us in. When we're done, the unit is empty and swept, ready to hand back.

Climate-controlled units often hold furniture, artwork and boxes of papers. Drive-up units tend to have heavier things: tools, appliances, tires and outdoor furniture. We plan for either.

Old units sometimes have water damage or pests. If you've seen signs of either, let us know so we can plan accordingly.

Boxes of papers are common. We keep any box that looks like it holds documents or photos aside for you to go through, rather than guessing.

Once the unit is empty, remember to give notice to the facility and remove your lock, so billing stops at the end of the month.

Units that were packed quickly during a move often have furniture wrapped in plastic, boxes stacked to the ceiling and nothing labeled. We work from the front of the unit back, and ask about anything that isn't clear.

Business owners use storage units too: old inventory, trade-show booths, records boxes and office furniture. We can clear those the same way.

If more than one unit needs to be emptied at the same facility, we can do them together in one visit.

Some facilities have rules about what can go in their dumpsters, and many don't allow tenants to leave anything behind at all. Hauling it away with us avoids fees for items left in the unit or by the dumpster.

Furniture that has been in storage for years may be dusty but still solid. If it's in good shape, we'll set it aside for donation, and anything damaged by moisture or pests goes to the landfill instead of a charity.

Many facilities charge a cleaning fee if a unit is returned dirty or with trash left inside. An empty, swept unit avoids that.

Before we come

Getting the unit ready.

  • Facility rules: check gate hours, truck access and whether we need to be added to the access list.
  • Keepers: tell us what to set aside.
  • Size: the unit size and a photo through the door help us quote.
  • Hazards: let us know about chemicals, paint or fuel.

If you can't be there, we can work from a list and photos.

Pricing

How storage unit pricing works.

Every storage unit cleanout starts with a free estimate, usually from the unit size and a photo. You get one price for emptying the unit, sorting and hauling.

The price is based on volume, not hours, and covers the crew, the truckloads and the disposal fees.

If the unit is bigger than it looked from the door, we'll talk with you before adding anything to the price.

Many storage cleanouts fit in one visit; bigger units may need a second truck.

Inherited

Inherited units.

If you've inherited a storage unit, you may not know what's inside. We'll go through it carefully and set aside papers, photos and keepsakes before hauling the rest.

If several family members share the unit, we can set things aside by name.

Old couches are the most common thing we pull out of storage units. See couch removal.

Auctions

Auction units.

If you bought a unit at a lien auction, facilities usually give you a short window to empty it. Tell us the deadline and we'll schedule around it.

Anything of value you want to sell can be set aside before we haul the rest.

Most auction units can be cleared in a single visit once we know the size.

Moves

After a move.

If you stored things during a move and no longer need them, we can empty the unit so you can close the account.

If you're moving out of the area, we can clear the unit before your move date.

If you're consolidating two units into one, we can haul what's not needed from both.

The keepers stay where you want them.

Transparent pricing

The price you see is the price you pay.

Every cleanout gets a free on-site or photo estimate. Your price is confirmed before we lift a thing.
