How it works

How e-waste removal in Sacramento works.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS IN 10 SECONDS

What we pick up
TVs, monitors, computers, printers, stereos and small electronics, carried out of Sacramento homes and businesses. It can be one old TV or a spare room full of cables and chargers. Heavy tube and console TVs too.
What it costs
A single TV or a box of small electronics starts at $74, and a roomful mixed with other junk is a standard pickup from $149. The payment happens after the work, fuel is included and travel surcharges don't exist here.
Where we work
Homes and offices across the Sacramento region. This September we cleared a home office in Roseville and a boxed TV in Sacramento. Businesses can see commercial e-waste removal.
How soon
We're open 24 hours, 7 days a week, and same-day electronics pickup is often available. Wipe your drives and reset phones before we arrive, since we don't do data wiping.
Where it goes
Anything with a screen or circuit board goes to e-waste recycling, never household trash. Microwaves go to metal recycling, and working electronics may be donated. Averaged across our work, about 45% of what we haul gets donated or recycled.

E-waste removal

Electronics out, and out of the landfill.

What we pick up and why it matters where it goes.

In California, TVs, monitors, laptops and most other electronics with a screen or circuit board aren't allowed in household trash. They contain metals like lead and mercury that have to be handled separately. That makes them one of the harder things to get rid of on your own.

We pick up electronics from homes and businesses across the region and take them to e-waste recycling. A single old TV is a normal pickup. So is a spare room full of computers, printers, cables and chargers.

Home offices are a big source. This September in Roseville we took a printer, several laptops and a lot of old software, about a quarter of a truck. Another Roseville home the same month had a bench and a printer to go.

TVs come in every size and era. The heavy tube TVs from the 1990s are still turning up in garages and closets, and flat screens get replaced every few years. This September in Sacramento, an old TV still in its box went out with a coffee table, a desk and some plastic shelving.

Businesses call when they upgrade or move. In Rancho Cordova this September we cleared office boxes, recycling and a few old electronics from one location, about half a load.

Electronics rarely go alone. A garage cleanout might include a fridge, a ladder and a car battery along with a box of e-waste, like one Carmichael job this August. We sort it as we load.

Please remove personal data before we come. Wipe or pull the hard drives from computers, and factory-reset phones and tablets. If you'd rather keep a drive and destroy it yourself, just take it out first.

Moving is when most electronics turn up. Drawers of old phones, a stack of DVD players, speakers that haven't been plugged in for years and a printer nobody wants to pack. We can clear all of it before the movers come.

Estate and household cleanouts almost always include electronics: an old stereo cabinet, a VCR, a desktop computer in the spare room. We sort them out of the rest of the load so they end up at e-waste recycling.

Schools, churches and nonprofits collect old equipment too. Donated computers that are too old to use, broken projectors and piles of cables are all things we can haul.

Some electronics still work. If you'd like them donated rather than recycled, let us know which ones and we'll set them aside for a charity that will take them.

Old security cameras, smart speakers, cable boxes and modems pile up after every upgrade. Most cable and internet providers want their equipment returned, so check before you add rented boxes to the pile.

Small electronics count too: microwaves, printers, game consoles, routers, speakers, keyboards and cords. Put them in a box or bag and we'll take the whole thing.

Before we come

Getting electronics ready.

  • Data: wipe or remove hard drives, and reset phones and tablets.
  • Batteries: tape the ends of loose batteries or bag them separately.
  • Broken screens: let us know about cracked TVs or monitors so we can load them carefully.
  • Business pickups: tell us roughly how many units and where they are.

A quick list or photo of what's going helps us give you a price.

Where it goes

  • TVs, monitors, computers and printers go to e-waste recycling.

Pricing

What e-waste removal costs.

A single TV or a box of small electronics starts at $74. A room's worth of equipment, or electronics mixed with other junk, is priced by truck space: $149 for a standard pickup and $749 for a full load.

For a large business pickup, send a count or a few photos and we'll quote before we come.

Tube TVs

Old tube TVs and consoles.

CRT TVs are heavy and contain leaded glass, so they're one of the items most people can't get rid of easily. Big console TVs in wooden cabinets are the heaviest of all. We carry them out and take them to e-waste recycling.

Rear-projection TVs from the 2000s are big and awkward too, and they go the same way.

Offices

Office cleanouts.

When a business upgrades, the old monitors, desktops, printers and phones pile up in a back room. We can clear them along with desks, chairs and filing cabinets. See office cleanouts and commercial e-waste.

Batteries

Batteries and bulbs.

Household batteries and fluorescent bulbs are universal waste in California. Bag them separately or tape the terminals so they don't short out, and tell us they're in the pile.

Lithium batteries from laptops, tools and e-bikes can be a fire risk if damaged. Keep swollen or punctured batteries separate and tell us about them.
