What usually happens with old pianos.
Giving it away is worth a try if the piano is a known brand, has been tuned recently and plays well. Even then, the person taking it has to arrange the move, which is where a lot of free listings stall.
Taking it to the landfill yourself is possible. Yolo County's landfill takes bulky items, but you'll need a truck or trailer, a ramp, a dolly and several strong people. It's a real injury risk.
