Tell us what's going

Call (916) 866-1152 or get your price online. Say what you have and where it is.

2

Confirm the price on site

We look at it, confirm the price, and only then start lifting.

3

We load it and sweep up

Our crew carries it out, hauls it off and leaves the spot broom-clean.

Discard started with a former truck driver who wanted to be home for dinner. So we stayed local. We're a family-owned crew based in Midtown, not a franchise, and when you call the number on this page, the owner is the one who answers.

Most calls start the same way. Something's in the way and you're done looking at it. Maybe it's one recliner. Maybe it's a garage you haven't parked in for three years. You tell us what it is, we give you a price, and we confirm it on site before anything moves. The price we quote is the price you pay.

We work all over the metro. Our Sacramento neighborhoods page covers Midtown, Natomas, Land Park and the rest of the city, and we have pages for Elk Grove, Roseville, Citrus Heights and West Sacramento too.

A riding mower past saving

An old riding mower that had to be cut up before it could leave the yard. We cut it down on site and hauled it off in about half a truck.

Office leftovers

A lateral file cabinet, a water filter housing and a rolling cart. We priced it on site first, then loaded it.

An old area carpet, a pile of branches already cut to size and a stack of garbage bags. Booked online, about half a load.

Folsom · June 2026

Three pieces of furniture

A hutch, a bookshelf and a TV stand, all in one trip. About a quarter of a load, picked up in a late-afternoon window.

Carmichael · July 2026

A pair of sliding shower doors leaning just inside the garage. A small job, and we take those too.

Davis · September 2026

Where Your Stuff Actually Goes

We sort every load. Furniture and household goods that still have life in them get donated. Mattresses go through California's Bye Bye Mattress program, and e-waste gets recycled, not thrown out. On average, that's about 45% of what we haul.

The rest goes to the site closest to the job. Elk Grove, Folsom and El Dorado Hills loads go to Kiefer Landfill in Sloughhouse. Carmichael, Antelope and North Highlands loads go to the North Area Recovery Station. Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln and Auburn loads go to the WPWMA site in Lincoln, and West Sacramento, Davis and Woodland loads go to the Yolo County Central Landfill.

The Short List We Can’t Take

We don't take hazardous waste, and we don't take anything flagged for asbestos. We don't rent dumpsters or wipe hard drives. We haul branches once they're cut into pieces we can carry, but we don't cut down trees. And we don't do demolition, except for sheds and fences.

Everything else, from a single mattress to a full estate cleanout, we can take.

DIY vs. Discard: The Real Math

Do it yourself and here’s the honest tally: a truck rental, fuel, Kiefer or NARS dump fees that typically run $80–$180 per load depending on weight, and your whole Saturday. Do the math twice if the couch doesn’t fit the first trip. Or: standard pickups start at $149, our crew does the loading, disposal is part of the price, and your Saturday stays yours.

"This group of individuals is the epitome of speedy and professional. They kept me in the loop of arrival, what to expect. The fees were minimal for not having to research dump fees. They removed 3 large items from a third floor apartment in less than 30 minutes."
